I am Tom Gholson, also known as PT. Since the fall of 2003, I have had the privilege of serving Brook Hollow Baptist Church as Pastor. I am a graduate of Belmont University ('91) and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary ('94). Prior to my coming to Brook Hollow, I served as pastor of Zion Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana ('93-'94) and First Baptist Church in Dunlap, Tennessee ('95-'03). I am proud to say I am a Tennessean but also proud to say that I grew up in a small town in southern Illinois.
I am married to Tracey and we are the parents of two 'near-the-end-of-college' young adults. As a couple, we are very proud of our family but at the same time are enjoying the transition into 'empty nesters'. We love long walks or hikes near Warner Park, working on the latest home improvement project together and planning the next big road trip.
Everyday, I simply hope to grow a little bit closer to Jesus and this is simply what I want for the children and adults of our congregation.
I grew up in the suburbs East of Dallas. My family was always involved in church life. It wasn’t until sometime around Junior High that I really started to own my own involvement with church and my relationship with Jesus, through the leadership and encouragement of my youth minister. At this same time, I started playing the guitar and fostering a love of country music that would ultimately lead me to move to Nashville after graduating from the University of Texas. God has always had His hand on my life and guided my steps. It has only been recently that I have felt led to use of my musical abilities and talents to lead worship. I am the husband to my amazing wife and father to my three beautiful daughters. My family and I have loved Brook Hollow from the first time we visited and truly feel that we are exactly where God wants us to be. My hope for the worship at Brook Hollow is that it would be pleasing to the Lord because it is authentic and a genuine outpouring from the hearts of our people.
Kathy Davis, Director of Weekday Education
Working with children is my passion. I have enjoyed my role as Weekday Director for Brook Hollow’s Weekday Program for the last 31 years. I also teach aerobics two nights a week at the church and believe that being fit is important for the mind, body, and soul. I love connecting families to quality education.
Gloria Duncan, Secretary
I came to Brook Hollow on a temporary basis in June 1992. I was asked to help out in the office until they hired someone. It's been over 27 years, and I'm still here! I found a church home, a church family and a ministry, as well as a place of service that I love and enjoy. Come visit us.
Sandra Wood, Financial Secretary
Emmett and I joined Brook Hollow Baptist Church in May of 1971 following Emmett’s four-year service in the US Air Force. BHBC has nurtured and supported us in both prosperous and difficult times. Our children, Allyson and Todd, grew up at BHBC. I joined the church staff in April 1989 following the retirement of Francis Algee. I had no idea when I agreed to “fill in until they found someone” that I would be here 30 years later. It has been a joy to serve and minister here at BHBC. Sharing family activities and enjoying my grandchildren takes up most of my spare time these days.
Allyson Hobbie, Director of Children's Ministry
I joined the Brook Hollow staff as Director of Children's Ministries in 1998. My passion is to partner with families in providing a safe and FUN environment for kids of all ages to know that they are loved, no matter what. My desire is to ensure the ministry to children at BHBC helps kids come to know and love Jesus. In addition to working at Brook Hollow, I love spending time with my husband, Josh, and our son, Harrison, especially at the beach!
